Ashdown-Ingram Acquires AEA
The Ashdown-Ingram expansion continues with the announcement that they have plans to acquire the business of Auto Electrics Australia (AEA). The transaction is expected to be completed on 1 April 2015.
AEA’s head office is in Brisbane and was formed in 1997 and has 7 branches in their network.
Mr Rob Cameron, Executive General Manager of Ashdown-Ingram said “We are delighted our two businesses are coming together. This acquisition makes great business sense. We are very similar businesses, with similar business philosophies; similar values; customers in common and established business relationships. Through combining the best of each of our businesses, we create a compelling customer value proposition.”
Mr Scott Hill, Managing Director of AEA said “the Senior Team and I are very excited to be joining forces with A-I. Our two businesses have had a longstanding, respectful relationship in the market where we’ve worked together to best service our respective customers’ needs. The scale and financial backing that Ashdown-Ingram brings enables us to grow the business beyond what’s achievable under private ownership, particularly with the ever increasing complexity of the Automotive Electrical Aftermarket. This is a strategic move for both our businesses.”
At the time of publishing this release our understanding is that A-I will operate Auto Electrics Australia in its current form. We will keep you posted.
